1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using zenolegacy.com or my.zenolegacy.com (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

The Platform is operated by Zeno Venture Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India, with its registered office at A-103, iThum, Sector 62, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201309 ("ZenoLegacy", "we", "us", or "our").

2. What ZenoLegacy Provides

ZenoLegacy is an estate planning platform that offers the following services:

  • Will Creation Tools — a guided questionnaire that generates a legally structured Will in PDF format. Paid plans include legal review by independent legal professionals.
  • Asset Vault — secure digital storage for your important documents and asset information.
  • Nomination Audit — a tool to review and track nominations across your financial accounts.
  • Inheritance Checklist — a step-by-step guide for families to navigate the inheritance process.
  • Informational Content — articles, guides, and resources on estate planning in India.

2.1 Not a Law Firm

ZenoLegacy is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The legal review available on paid plans is performed by independent legal professionals who are not employees of ZenoLegacy. This review does not constitute ongoing legal counsel or create an attorney-client relationship. If you have a complex estate or require personalised legal guidance, we strongly recommend that you engage an independent lawyer.

2.2 Will Validity

A Will generated through ZenoLegacy is legally valid when all of the following conditions are met:

  • It is signed by the testator (you) in the presence of two witnesses.
  • The two witnesses are not beneficiaries named in the Will.
  • The testator is of sound mind at the time of signing.
  • The testator is 18 years of age or older.

ZenoLegacy is responsible for: ensuring the Will document meets formal legal requirements under Indian succession law.

You are responsible for: the accuracy of the information you provide, the correct execution (signing and witnessing) of the Will, and keeping your Will updated as your circumstances change.

3. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a resident of India, or a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) with assets in India.
  • Be of sound mind and capable of entering into a binding agreement.
  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration and use of the Platform.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Registration

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You agree to keep your account information up to date at all times.

4.2 Authentication

ZenoLegacy uses passwordless authentication via one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your registered email address. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address linked to your account.

4.3 Security

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect any unauthorised access or security breach, notify us immediately at support@zenolegacy.com.

4.4 One Account per Person

Each individual may maintain only one account on the Platform. Duplicate accounts may be suspended or terminated.

5. Plans & Payments

5.1 Starter Plan

The Starter plan is available free of charge and provides access to basic features of the Platform.

5.2 Paid Subscriptions

The Essential and Family plans are annual subscriptions that provide access to advanced features, including legal review. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' prior notice.

5.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Razorpay. ZenoLegacy does not store your credit card or payment card information on its servers.

5.4 Refund Policy

If you have not downloaded your Will document, you may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase. Once the Will document has been downloaded, no refund will be issued. To request a refund, contact us at billing@zenolegacy.com.

5.5 Taxes & Invoicing

All prices displayed on the Platform are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST). A tax invoice will be provided for every transaction.

6. Your Content & Data

6.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of all personal information, documents, and data you submit to the Platform ("Your Content").

6.2 Limited Licence

By using the Platform, you grant ZenoLegacy a limited, non-exclusive licence to access, process, and store Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the services offered on the Platform.

6.3 Accuracy

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. ZenoLegacy is not liable for any consequences arising from inaccurate or incomplete inputs.

6.4 Data Retention

Your documents and account data will be retained for 7 years following account closure, in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Create a Will or estate plan for another person without their explicit consent.
  • Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Use the Platform to facilitate fraud, forgery, or any other criminal activity.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, design elements, software, and documentation — is owned by or licensed to Zeno Venture Private Limited and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our prior written consent.

Your Will document belongs to you. Upon generation, the Will document created using your inputs is your property.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform and all services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. ZenoLegacy does not guarantee that:

  • The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
  • Any Will or document generated will be accepted by any court or authority.
  • The informational content on the Platform is exhaustive or applicable to every individual situation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ZenoLegacy's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount paid by you to ZenoLegacy in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹2,000, whichever is higher.

ZenoLegacy shall not be liable for:

  • Family disputes or contested Wills.
  • Errors or omissions resulting from inaccurate information provided by you.
  • Delays in court proceedings or probate processes.
  • Loss of documents that were not securely stored by you.
  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ZenoLegacy, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your breach of these Terms.
  • Inaccurate or misleading information provided by you.
  • Your unlawful use of the Platform.

12. Partner Terms

If you are a partner (such as a financial advisor, chartered accountant, or legal professional) using the Platform to assist your clients, a separate Partner Agreement governs the terms of that relationship. These Terms of Service continue to apply to your use of the Platform.

Partners must not represent or market legal review services provided through ZenoLegacy as their own service offering.

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@zenolegacy.com. Following account closure, your data will be retained for 7 years in accordance with our data retention policy.

13.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, provide false information, or use the Platform for unlawful purposes. We will provide reasonable notice before termination, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Platform, other users, or comply with legal obligations.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Before initiating formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation for a period of at least 30 days.

15. Amendments

ZenoLegacy reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and a prominent banner on the Platform, with at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
